Find out about local waterways and biodiversity in your neighbourhood including contamination issues and ways to help. This session is interactive via Zoom and involves using a bucket to build a model creek to see how various contaminants affect the water quality.

Notes & Requirements

You will need: a clear bowl or bucket; a litre of tap water; 2 sheets of toilet paper; 30ml of water with one drop of yellow food dye; one teaspoon coarse salt; 30ml of water with one drop of red food dye; a few drops of dishwashing liquid; 5 pebbles and one teaspoon of sand; 4 leaves, 10 blades of grass and 4 small sticks; 30mls of water with one drop of blue dye; 4 small lolly wrappers; 4 teaspoons dirt; and a stirring stick from the garden.
