Your Library in conjunction with Mt Evelyn RSL would like to introduce "Home front: the impact of war on the shire of Lillydale". This is the brand new book by local author Anthony McAleer.

Anthony, along with Dr Bart Ziino (Senior Lecturer in History at Deakin University & Matthew Crymble, president of the Mt Evelyn RSL), will take us on a fascinating journey into our local history; not just those in uniform serving on the battle front, but also those who remained at home.

Retelling the story of the First World War year by year and theme by theme, from the perspective of those from one Victorian district who battled on the home front, and those who helped to support the war and kept the economy going in the various farming communities that made up the Shire of Lillydale and the impact it had.
