Event Description

What is emotional honesty in literature and how can writers hone it? Lee Kofman, the author of 8 books in 2 languages which arent her mother tongue, has grappled with these questions her entire writing life, which began in a Siberian village where aged 3 she recited her first poem to a crowd of illiterate babushkas. What followed was decades of wrestling with the art of writing and of incessant reading from Jackie Collins to Tolstoy and Helen Garner. Lee will discuss her challenges of writing as an outsider as well as suffering a writers block and how she overcomes these by committing to an emotionally honest writing practice and by reading books that ring with authenticity.
