Event Description

Nick Gadd and his late wife Lynne spent two years walking around the suburbs of Melbourne in a big circle, looking for old buildings, mysterious signs, forgotten stories and curious characters from the past. After Lynne passed away from cancer, Nick wrote his memoir MELBOURNE CIRCLE: Walking, Memory and Loss. This is the story of their deep dive into Melbournes lost histories.

Nick is the author of the novels Ghostlines (winner of a Victorian Premiers Literary Award) and Death of a Typographer, and the memoir Melbourne Circle. His writings about Melbourne, history, literature, music, and suburban life have appeared in The Guardian, Griffith Review, Eureka Street, Meanjin and many others.
