Event Description

What's it like to realise you're autistic? And how do you start to ask the world around you to accept that? After realising she had autism, Professor Sandra Thom-Jones began to understand that she didn't experience the world like neurotypical people.

Sandra Thom-Jones is an autistic author, artisan, academic and advocate. She is the author of Growing in to Autism (MUP, 2022), the mother of two adult autistic sons, and a passionate champion for the inclusion of autistic people in all aspects of society. Sandra lives in Healesville with her husband, younger son, dog, cat, and hundreds of dolls. She is a university Professor and has undertaken numerous research projects in partnership with the autistic community on the experiences of autistic people and the knowledge and attitudes towards autism in the community.

Join us at Croydon Library to hear from Sandra about her recently released book, Growing into Autism.
