Event Description
Join Karen Barnes from the Victorian Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (VAME) to learn about the world of miniatures. You'll discover the history of miniatures, from their ancient beginnings in Egyptian culture, through to the rise of the modern hobby of doll houses and room boxes.
Karen will discuss the different sizes of miniatures and share examples of everyday items that have been 'miniaturised' for a comparison. She'll also give a brief outline of VAME, including the practical projects they do and the cost of membership.
There will be books, examples of miniature items to handle and examine, plus a friendly and relaxed Q & A session.
