Have you ever wished you could eat fresh fruit from your own fruit trees, but thought you didn’t have the know-how or the space in your own garden?
Come along and hear “Titch”, a Sales Manager at Flemings Nurseries with over 30 years’ experience, inspire you and tell you how. “Titch” will share his knowledge and passion for trees, introduce you to the varieties of both dwarf and regular-sized fruit trees, single and multi-grafted varieties, and how to care for them – including a “pruning for the petrified” demonstration!
If you only have space for one tree, choose a lemon – for every home needs a lemon tree!
Joining “Titch” will be Bronwyn Koll, an employee of Agribusiness Yarra Valley, and the Yarra Valley Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF) Co-ordinator, to advise you on how to protect and manage your fruit trees to keep them Fruit Fly Free.
Bronwyn has an Agricultural Science degree, production horticulture experience, and is passionate about protecting the Yarra Valley’s privileges on producing fresh food, fruit fly free.
Her role is to educate and build awareness within the Yarra Valley community – both commercial & domestic – about how to reduce the risk of QFF, correctly identify QFF, and the methods of treatment if QFF is detected – a must for everyone with fruit trees in their backyard!

Fleming’s Nurseries was founded in the early 1900’s by Eric Fleming who developed his techniques of growing fruit trees with the famous Nobelius family. By the 1960’s the family business had taken leaps and bounds with Eric’s sons and daughters actively engaged in the bare root production nursery - mostly supplying Australia’s buoyant orchard industry.
