Caroline is the fifth great niece of the legendary author and the last of the Austen Knight family to grow up at Chawton House on the estate where Jane Austen lived and enjoyed the most productive period of her writing career.

Following a childhood steeped in centuries of tradition and her great aunt Jane’s legacy, she launched the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation to increase literacy rates in the world’s poorest communities.
