Event Description

Come and listen as Alli Parker speaks about her debut historical fiction novel that captures the true story of Australia's first Japanese war bride, Alli's grandmother, Nobuko 'Cherry' Sakuramoto. Alli's novel explores Gordon's fight to bring his wife and children home to Australia in the face of the "White Australia Policy" and a xenophobic and war-scarred government.
