Event Description

You should read Lewis Carol's famous poem Jabberwocky! It's a great little story in the form of a poem, but also the other amazing thing about it, is that he made up half the words in the poem, but somehow, you can still understand it! How weird and nifty is that! So we'll look at how to create brand-new words that people can still understand – through Greek and Latin word roots as well as portmanteau neologisms. I must say, it's really fun making up brand new words, and on top of that, you'll be putting your own brand-new words into your very own story-poem that people can enjoy!

Suitable for children aged 9 and up.
