Event Description

Join author Jeff Steel as he recounts the incredible adventures of Neil Lindsay in World War Two from his book "The Impossible Survivor".

Neil Lindsay was a Melbourne boy. When he volunteered for RAF Bomber Command in the darkest days of World War Two, he rapidly discovered that survival was unlikely. He pressed on.

He flew in the prestigious 106 squadron, with the legendary Guy Gibson VC of Dambuster fame. On his 28th operation, he was the sole survivor from a catastrophic explosion in his Lancaster bomber.

It could not be written as fiction: no one would believe it. Among other things, this talk describes his survival from the burning aircraft, his role in the famous Great Escape, and the Luftwaffe's subtle techniques of persuading him to talk.

"The Impossible Survivor" will be available for sale on the day of event. Cash or card accepted.
