Event Description

Edith Cowan was an inspirational woman with a pioneering spirit. A tireless campaigner for education, health and social issues and a major contribution to the status and welfare of women and children. Edith faced adversity from an early age, through tenacity and hard work, met these challenges and went on to become a major force of children's & women's rights in the early 1900s. Edith the first Australian woman elected to parliament.
