Event Description

There was once a clearing in the Sherbrooke Forest, near Belgrave's Trestle Bridge, where groups would gather for barbeques, celebrations and special events. It was known as 'Jack The Miners'.

The reason for this name has been lost in the mists of time, and the clearing has now been allowed to return into part of the forest. Who was Jack? Was he a real person?

Now an old document has come to light, revealing the true identity of 'Jack the Miner'.

Anita Walker, Researcher for Sherbrooke Foothills Historical Society, will present an illustrated talk on this fascinating lesser-known local history mystery.
