Event Description
Have you ever wanted to have a garden full of butterflies to boost the local population? Maybe you would consider taking things one step further and take up breeding butterflies as a hobby or side hustle?
Local butterfly breeder Yvonne Duke has been delighting the community for several years by providing caterpillars and pupae to schools, kindergartens and families, and is now looking to pass on her knowledge in the hope that more members of the community will be willing to take up the cause and continue the work she has started.
Workshop One will cover the plants and equipment you need to grow to sustain a caterpillar and butterfly population. Yvonne will have seeds and cuttings to help to get you started so you can make the most of the cool weather to get them established before butterfly breeding starts.
Due to popularity, we will be hosting two "Workshop Ones". You will have the option of attending one of two sessions on whichever day suits you.
Workshop Two (to be held in November) will cover the insects and their care, and where to source them. You will maybe even take home some eggs to get started.
