Join Merryn Glover, for a Scottish adventure through her book The Hidden Fires: A Cairngorms Journey with Nan Shepherd. Fierce and full of wonder, the Cairngorm mountains are the high and rocky heart of Scotland.
In The Hidden Fires, Glover undertakes their challenge with 20th-century Aberdeenshire author Nan Shepherd as guiding light. Following the contours of her celebrated work, The Living Mountain, Merryn charts her own journey from the Himalayas, via Australia to Scotland. Separated by time but unified by landscape, it becomes a conversation between two women across a century that explores how entering the life of a mountain can illuminate our own. Glover was brought up in South Asia, attended Uni in Melbourne and has called Scotland home for 30 years.
Merryn's stories and plays have been broadcast on the BBC with two novels earning critical acclaim. Her talk is richly illustrated with images of the Cairngorms, past and present, with time for Q&A and book signing.
This event has concluded. It's a little too late to make a booking!
