Event Description

Alice Bishop grew up in Christmas Hills. Her first story collection, "A Constant Hum", was shortlisted for the 2019 prize for New Australian Fiction.
The book is based on Alice's hometown’s experience of Black Saturday and the resulting hardships people, especially women, face during the aftermath of bushfire. A writer with an eye for the telling detail, some of these stories cut to the bone; others are empathetic tales of survival, even hope. An exciting new voice in Australian writing.
